Duo Allemagnetti

Virtuoso Harpsichordist Alexandra Snyder Dunbar joins violist and pedagogue, Maggie Snyder to form the sister duo, Allemagnetti, an ensemble focused on playing the repertoire already in existence for the unique instruments, while also championing new works. The ensemble performs solo works for each instrument, along with Baroque, Classical, and Modern works. They both actively transcribe works for the duo and are pursuing opportunities for commissioning new works, along with performing lesser known works by modern composers. The sisters have been seen in concert halls across the states and abroad, including Carnegie's Stern and Weill Halls, Alice Tully, and in Greece, Prague, Russia and Korea, and have performed with leading ensembles and at top universities and music schools throughout the country. Cumulatively, the duo holds degrees from the Juilliard School, Peabody Conservatory, the Manhattan School, and the University of Memphis. The Snyders have performed together since they were infants and are featured on the Snyder Family's annual New Year's Eve concert in Memphis. The duo has received special recognition from the former senator of Tennessee, Harold Ford, and had its New York City debut recital this past season in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, May 10, 2009. That program included 3 world premieres written for the ensemble by Thomas Pasatieri, Kamran Ince, and Garrett Byrnes.
